Our organisation is in the midst of a transformation towards a digital-only future. To ensure Mediahuis remains prepared and profitable for years to come, we have developed “Strategy 2030”, a transformation plan focused on the future of journalism, accelerating digital revenue growth and optimising our cost structure.
As part of this journey, it is essential to identify the competencies we will need in the future and understand how these will impact the way we work across different areas of our organisation.
To lead this effort, we are looking for a Lead Futureproof Organisation. In this role, you will be responsible for facilitating the organisational and competency development needs that will ensure Mediahuis remains future-ready. You will work closely with Chief HR Officer Martine Vandezande (sponsor), the Group Team, local HR directors, and their teams.
Your responsibilities
Team up with the Strategy 2030 track leads and their stakeholders to:
- Define current and future competencies.
- Work with the Mediahuis Academy team to develop learning and development initiatives aligned with future competencies.
- Facilitate the process of rethinking our organisational design needs, engaging Strategy 2030 track leads and HR professionals to develop proposals for future ways of working (e.g., structure, governance) across various domains (Newsroom, B2B, B2C, etc.).
In doing so, you do not lose sight of the Mediahuis values and make sure all initiatives align with the BRAVE leadership principles and the IMPACT sustainability programme (e.g. integrating diversity and inclusion).
Develop a roadmap in collaboration with the track sponsor, monitor progress and outcomes, and provide regular updates to key stakeholders, including the track sponsor, Group Strategy Office team, Strategy 2030 track leads, Group Team, and the HR Group Team.
Your profile
- Programme manager: You have experience leading and managing critical strategic projects.
- Process facilitator: You are skilled in facilitating workshops, defining objectives, challenging input, and consolidating insights from key stakeholders.
- Organisational design savvy: You have up-to-date knowledge of organisational structures and trends, including cross-functional teams, matrix organisations, and network organisations.
- Aware of organisational sensitivities: You have the ability to understand and navigate internal dynamics, culture and relationships within an organisation, recognising the impact of decisions and actions on the organisation. You have good understanding and insights into how newsrooms, B2C, B2B and other departments work.
- Strategic and analytical mindset: You have a strategic and critical mindset, aware of trends inside and outside our industry.
- Change manager: You have proficiency in planning and implementing change initiatives, engaging stakeholders, addressing resistance, and ensuring sustainable transformation.
- Communicator: You are capable of effectively conveying our company’s strategic direction to all levels of the organisation, ensuring alignment and understanding.
- Languages: You are fluent in English.
